St Mary’s has achieved our bronze Eco Church award!
On Sunday 8th April (2018) we welcomed Godfrey Armitage from A Rocha to St Mary’s to speak to us and to present us with our Bronze Eco church plaque and certificate.
Over the last twelve months we have made a number of small but positive changes. Some have been made relatively easily: our tea and coffee is now Fair Trade, news sheets are printed on recycled paper and cleaning products are eco-friendly. We have stopped using disposable crockery and cutlery, and now have recycling facilities at church, thanks to the help and co-operation of the Coppice School (our landlord).
In some areas we already rate higher than bronze standard; watch this space as we work towards silver and gold standards!
Pictured below are Godfrey from A Rocha, Pam and Pete our Church Wardens and Lisa from the Coppice School, with the bronze plaque and certificate.
